IELTS Academic Writing : Southland’s main exports in 2000, 20* and future projections for 2025

The chart below gives information about Southland’s main exports in 2000, 20* and future projections for 2025.

Answer:

The bar graph illustrates the value of Southland’s major exports in areas of international tourism, dairy products and meat products in 2000, 2021 and future estimations for 2025.

Overall, it is apparent that international tourism is predicted to be the leading sector of export, whereas meat products will decrease over the period.

International tourism, with over 8 billion pounds was the highest revenue earner in 2000. It continues to increase steadily to about 9 billion pounds in 2021 and is envisaged the figures will raise to a peak of 10 billion pounds in 2025.

The dairy product exports rose significantly from 7 billion pounds in 2000 to about 10 billion pounds in 2021. However, it is speculated the value will drop to 8 billion pounds in 2025. On the contrary, meat products worth 6 billion pounds were exported in 2000, but it declined to 5.5 billion pounds in 2021. It is foreseen that the value will further plummet to 5 billion pounds in 2025.
