IELTS Academic writing: Reasons for study among students of different age groups and the amount of support they received.

The charts below show the main reasons for study among students of different age groups and the amount of support they received from employers.

Sample Answer:
The first line graph illustrates the major causes for continuing education in different age range. The second bar graph displays the employer’s support offered to these age groups.

Overall, it is apparent that young people mainly studied for a bright career, whereas the older ones chose to study to cater their interest. Moreover, maximum employer support was provided to the youngest age group.

The highest proportion of people who opted to study for their career was 80%, aged under 26. While, only 10% of this age group chose to study for their personal interest. The reason to study for getting a good job decreased with increasing age. In addition, equal proportion of people (40%)in the age bracket 40-49 selected to study fro their interest and career. However, a significant percentage of people above 49 chose to study for their personal interest, accounting to 70% leaving behind 18% of over 49 people who studied for career.

The employers provided greatest support to people below 26 at 60% and this help decreased with growing age to 30% for 30-39 aged people. Conversely, the support offered to over 49 people was greater than 40-49 age groups at 40% and 35% respectively.
